Carnegie Short List 2016
Having several long list books to read I kept putting this one off as it didn't appeal to me at all - not my genre! However, that is the beauty of having to read books - it made me pick this one up (I went to a conference and they were all raving about it so felt obliged) and now I am so glad I did. The subject matter was a little far fetched but isn't that what books are for - to stretch the imagination? Coupled with the historical element it made a good read - definitely one to suggest to those set on historical fiction as a genre - might get them into fantasy.
